- Use USB to COM converter for a Computer is not COM port (Install USB-COM converter follow its guide)

B. Connecting in DLC1 and DLC2 diagnostic connector

1. Connecting in Engine fault reading (ECM) as bellow:

+ Turn OFF Ignition key

+ B-pin of data cable to +B Vehicle diagnostic connector

(Other case: If +B-Pin on connector is not available then connect B cable to +12V-pin battery)

+ E-pin of data cable to E1 Vehicle diagnostic connector

+ T pin of data cable to TE1 Vehicle diagnostic connector

+ W-pin of data cable to W Vehicle diagnostic connector

(Several cases: If W-Pin on connector is not available then connect W cable to negative pin of check lamp or W-pin of ECU or W-pin on the DLC2.

Some vehicles have 02 port is DLC1 and DLC2 then could combine DLC1 and DLC2 connector in connection)

+ Turn ON Ignition key

   DLC1

2. Connecting Vehicle in ABS fault reading (ECM) as bellow:

+ Turn OFF Ignition key

+ Remove jumper from Wa-Wb on Vehicle diagnostic connector

+ B-pin cable to +B Vehicle diagnostic connector (Several Cases: If +B-Pin on connector is not available then connect B cable to +12V-pin of battery)

+ E-pin cable to E1 Vehicle diagnostic connector

+ T-pin cable to Tc Vehicle diagnostic connector

+ W-pin cable to Wa Vehicle diagnostic connector (Several Cases: If Wa-pin on connector is not available then connect W-pin cable to negative pin of ABS check lamp or Wa pin of ABS ECU)

+ Turn ON Ignition key

Notes: ABS actuator testing, please turn OFF ignition key, jump between Ts-pin and E1-pin and run on the road over 20 km/h in several minute. Re-connect test-mode for ABS actuator fault reading

C. Connecting to DLC3 diagnostic connector (16-pin look like OBD-II style)

Note:

Some Toyota vehicles still are OBD-I, M-OBD standard however, connector is 16 pins like OBD-II connector standard. if 13-pin on connector is variable then it is a M-OBD else 13-pin is not variable then it is a OBD-II standard)

1. Connecting in Engine faults reading (ECM) as bellow:

+ Turn OFF Ignition key

+ B-pin cable to BAT (16-pin) Vehicle diagnostic connector

+ E-pin cable to CG (04-pin) Vehicle diagnostic connector

+ T-pin cable to Tc (13-pin) Vehicle diagnostic connector

+ W-pin  cable to negative pin of Engine check lamp or W-pin of ECM)

+ Turn ON Ignition key

Please to see W-pin position on some Toyota’s ECU models as bellow

3S-FE, 5S-FE, 7A-FE Engine (COROLLA, CAMRY 91 - 2001)

1ZZ-FE Engine (COROLLA ALTIS 1.8G)

Note, this is position on ECU pin (male)

1TR-FE Engine (INNONVA G/J and HIACE)

Note, this is position on ECU pin (male)

2AZ-FE Engine (CAMRY 2.4G)

Note, this is position on ECU pin (male)

1KZ-TE Diesel Engine (HILUX, LAND CRUISER)

3RZ-FE Diesel Engine (PRADO, HILUX, LAND CRUISER)

Note, this is position on connector pin(female)

Click here for method find W- pin position on other Toyota ECU

2. Connecting in ABS faults reading (ABS) as bellow:

+ Turn OFF Ignition key

+ B-pin cable to BAT (16-pin) Vehicle diagnostic connector

+ E-pin cable to CG (04-pin) Vehicle diagnostic connector

+ T-pin cable to Tc (13-pin) Vehicle diagnostic connector

+ W-pin cable to negative pin of ABS check lamp or Wa-pin of ABS ECU)

+ Turn ON Ignition key

Notes: ABS actuator testing, please turn OFF ignition key, jump between Ts (14-pin) and CG (4-pin) and run vehicle on the road over 20 km/h in several minute, re-connect test-mode above for ABS actuator fault reading.

7.       THE STEP FOR A FAULT READING & CLEARING

- Connect data cable between a computer and electronic converter

- Connect data cable between electronic converter and car

- Turn on the ignition key of the car (notes, a LED of converter is ON).

- Turn on Computer and EFISCAN software

- Click fault read function from an item in first screen

- Click on ON/OFF button to load and self-test system. If loading of EFI Scan is OK then check engine light of vehicle is flashing and computer screen display is “Ready...”

- Select Engine or ABS function from option button (Engine function is default)

- Click SCAN button for fault reading

- Wait about 05 to 45 seconds for operation is finished. Time of testing is depending on amount of faults on the vehicle.

(The scanning is good if sandglass is flashing, if time test is too long time then your W-pin connection incorrect)

- If you want to check fault again, please click on “Reset” command and wait until screen display is “Ready...”

Notes

- EFISCAN will only display from 01 to 03 of fault status. Reports include of faults, diagnosis and repair suggestion information. If engine fault amount is over 03 then need to repair it and next checking.

- Please does not un-plug cable of the battery when fault reading before, like that all of faults were deleted.

- Some case, history fault code is stored in the memory on recent repairing time that it does not clear. Like this, the un-plug of battery cable clear fault code.

- Please run the vehicles on the road about 10 min after un-plug of battery cable then fault display is currently.

More:

- Do not use electronic converter box for other works.

- Do not use any other cable for replace.

- Do not use EFISCAN software with any other hardware.

- We do not blame for any wrong problem above.

8.  HOW IS EFI SCAN TOOL TESTING?

- Use any Toyota Zace. Do not need it had have engine fault.

- Turn on engine and unplug some connector of engine sensor

- Connect EFI Scan to this Car.

- Turn on ignition key

- Scan fault by EFI Scan on the Computer

- Compare fault display on screen and position of connector has unplugged.

- Re-plug connector again and clear fault code on the memory of ECU by unplug battery cable about 30 seconds or more.

- Re-test again with EFI Scan tool.
