2.       Q: What are advantages of EFI Scan?

A:

F EFI Scan is a PC based tool that low cost, it could instead of Handheld thousand of dollar if you only use read fault code for Toyota and Lexus

F EFI Scan has combined protocols of serial data and MIL data of M-OBD

F Perfect, correct and stability

F Now, over 200 of fault codes in database for Engine, ABS, and more

F English or Vietnamese language

F Uses for all of Toyota & Lexus vehicles are not OBD-II compliant from 1990 to 2007 and more...

3.   Q: Which are vehicles compatible to EFI Scan? My vehicle is use 16 pins connector (DLC3), how to know my vehicle is not OBD-II compliant?

A: EFI SCAN used for all of Toyota and Lexus vehicles is not OBD-II compliant that manufactured from 1990 to 2007 or more in the Asian, Africa, Ocean ...markets consist of OBD-I, M-OBD styles. EFI Scan is compatible for all of Toyota connectors as DLC1, DLC2 and DLC3. However, if your vehicle connector is DLC3 (16 pins) then you need discriminate between 02 cases as bellow:

- If pin-13 of connector is variable then your vehicle is an M-OBD standard style and EFI Scan able to work very well to it.

- If pin-13 of connector is not variable then your vehicle is an OBD-II standard style and EFI Scan not able to work to it. In this case, you use OBD-II Scantool on our website.

11.  Q: My engine is not list support of ECU W-pin position, How to found W-pin position for connecting?

A: NO problem, You click mouse on the Here for guide find W-pin position in any Toyota ECU

12.  Q: I bought EFI Scan and install to my computer. Now, here I have not any vehicle that have malfunction to test EFI Scan installation and perform its. What do I do?

A: OK, you could only use a Toyota that good running after do as bellow:

1.       Turn on engine and unplug few connectors of sensors on engine as fault creating.

2.       Turn off engine and connect EFI Scan as instructions.

3.       Turn on engine and start EFI Scan tool to check

4.       Re connect all of plugs and put out battery power line about 30 minutes or more to clear codes and turn off check engine light.

(Note that, this method only for OBD-I vehicles. Do not put out battery power line on OBD-II vehicles)

5.       Check more time again by EFI Scan tool.

13. Q: Today well received the EFI scan package , we tried I right away ….on our Toyota 2006 Hilux with 2KDFTV engine …everything installed no problem till that point ….but no signal detected? Com port is ok, my engine check light is blinking, the red led on the scan box is on ….but no signal detected ….do you have an idea what the cause of this could be?

A: If your installation is OK and Check Engine Light in your car is blinking when EFI Scan connected then your car sure is still M-OBD So, EFI Scan will work well. If report of EFI Scan is "signal is not found..." then there are some cases causes as bellow:

1- You do not connect W-pin from EFI Scan cable to W-ECU connector (you could use through a remain cable inside package)

2- Plug position of W-pin on ECU connector is not corrected or poor connection. You note that, guide connector picture maybe is a Female or Male.

3- Few case, ECU made for Africa is not same in Asian then you must find W-pin position yourself for your ECU by guide as Here. You save this position for

next time tests.

14. Q: I have tested your device on Australian Toyota Corolla 2001 7A-FE engine. The message was
"Fault 1: There is a fault in the intake air temp sensor signal

Diagnosis: open or short circuit in intake air temp sensor

Probable cause: Intake air temp sensor circuit, intake air sensor, ECU"

I did not switch the car on only ignition switch was ON. I did not unplug any sensors at all.

Does it mean I have to check air temp sensor?

How do I check the real fault number? Because I cannot see any except the message above

Do I need to reset the ECU prior to plugging in your device just to make sure it was not the previous fault?

Please help me, thanks.

A:

I very happy because you found malfunction in your car
You remember that, all of information from EFI Scan tool is correct completely.  It is include of fault measure, diagnosis and probable cause for you. This is fullest expand information, which you do not need to view fault code. Tool will read all of faults are storing is current in ECU of Engine. In fact, about 65% of malfunctions of engine are ECU managed.
As description then you need to discriminate between history faults and current faults.
- History faults are fault that created by any person (as unplug connector of sensor….) or repaired before but does not reset ECU. Therefore, it is still keep in the memory of ECU.
- Current faults are fault present that your car be having.
Therefore, you need to reset system ECU by put out fuse of ECU or Battery cable duration 30 second or more….connect again…….start engine in some minute…turn off engine…… turn on ignition key and read fault again by EFI Scan.

If is not found fault then there are history fault. You do not need to repairs.
Else, if measures display again as below then sure that you must check and replace part of your car.

The message still was:
”Fault 1 : There is a fault in the intake air temp sensor signal
Diagnosis: open or short circuit in intake air temp sensor
Suggest: Intake air temp sensor circuit, intake air sensor, ECU”

Please email me if you still further ask
Regards,
