VEHICLE INFORMATION AND EQUIPMENT SELECTION
Answer some questions for you:
1.
What is OBD (On-Board Diagnostic)? Is it reliable?
OBD (On-Board Diagnostic) is a system used in almost all cars
nowadays. Since 1980, car-manufactures began using integrated circuits to
control and diagnose troubles of engines. Many years, OBD system is used, it
becomes a required standard in modern cars.
In 1995, there was a standard OBD-generation II
(OBD-II).OBD-II can provide almost all information as engine, chassis, body,
accessories as well as control information network in cars.
Diagnostic information will give the retail degree depending
on each car.
The equipment that diagnoses troubles of engines connected to
OBD-II, process data and display correct information about engine condition.
Reliability of information of diagnostic equipment mainly depends on OBD-II
system in that car.
2.
How many faults can equipment is diagnostic?
Presently, ours equipment can diagnose 15000 normal faults in
the car, consist: faults about engine, drive system, chassis, accessories and
control information network in cars. The real number of faults will be up-dated
according to the development of the OBD-II system in cars.
(Notice: by diagnostic equipment, but each kind of cars and
the generation of cars has discovered different faults.)

Which kind of cars can be “tested”?
- Almost all small touring cars (from 02 to 16 seats)
manufactured after 1996 from
1. If you want to know exactly, look at its label, on which
there is symbol testifying ODB-II:

2. The car is equipped an OBD-II data connector (there is a
line connecting to pins).
+ Mode PWM: connector has pins: 2, 4,
5, 10 and 16
+ Mode VPM: connector has pins: 2, 4,
5 and 16 but not 10
+ Mode ISO: connector has pins: 4, 5,
7 and 16. There is pin 15 or not
+ Mode CAN: connector has pins: 4, 5,
6, 14 and 16

3. Check your car if it is in diagnosed cars list in EU &
USA and Asian Car list
or not.
(Notice: the car is not in list, it does not mean your car
cannot be diagnosed, it means your car has not been diagnosed)
5. Which diagnostic
equipment can I choose?
We now have two types of production with two different using
purposes:
- First type for
private car user, equipment for technical training or small garage in Asian: Select mode of: ISO, PWM, or VPW.
Note: ISO mode: (Used for almost the entire
car, this manufactured in the Asian)
-Second type for
machine factories:
Mode: AUTO protocol ((Used
for almost the entire car is OBD-II compliant, this manufactured in the world)
- Wireless type is only a
selection for save money and more conveniences.
6. Where is OBD-II
connector in the Cars?
The connector to diagnostic equipment has D16 pins form (some
cars has different types). The situation of the connector is around driver’s
seat on the right seat or under steering wheel.

7. How can you do “THE
TEST”?
- Turn off the main electrical key in the car.
- Connect data cable from electronic box to the car
- Turn on the main electrical key (can start up engine).
- Waiting for about 5 seconds
- Connect data cable from electronic box to the computer (as
the picture on home pages)
- Start up the computer and DTD-Code software.*
- Do the next operation according to the instruction on
screen.
- Observe the light displayed on the electric box and the
car.
- Read information about diagnosing faults and sensor
condition of your car.
- Turn off the main electricity lock and the computer when
you remove data cables.
- Scantool keeping is dry places.
